BEST HOMEMADE VEGAN APPLE PIE

Updated: Mar 8

Marjani Moore, MS, RD (That Dairy Free Dietitian).

Sleigh bells are ringing, carolers are singing, and chestnuts are being roasted on an open fire. The Holiday Season is finally here! I’m so excited to start Blogmas with a Holiday Staple… Apple Pie. My vegan/dairy-free apple pie contains a tender pie crust and succulent apple slices doused in cinnamon and sugar!

Here is my Vegan Apple Pie recipe that dairy-free, vegan, and even milk lovers will ENJOY!

Please let me know what you think and send pictures of your creations in the comments!

Step 1: Preheat oven to 425 °F. Line a 9-inch pan with one pie crust and set aside. Peel and slice the apples (slices should be no larger than 1 inch).

Step 2: Toss the sliced apples in a large bowl and combine with sugar, white flour, melted vegan butter, and cinnamon.

Step 3: Transfer seasoned sliced apples to the lined pie pan (the filling should tower over the top).

Step 4: Place the 2nd pie crust on top and crimp the edges of the two pie crusts together with a fork or your fingers. Cut a few slits into the top crust to allow steam to escape. To prevent burnt edges, cover the outer rim of the pan with a ring of aluminum foil, leaving the middle of the pie exposed.

Step 5: Place the pie into the preheated oven on the oven center rack. Bake for 40 minutes, or until the crust is lightly browned and the apple filling is bubbly and hot. Let cool. (Leftovers can be covered and refrigerated for up to 5 days). ENJOY!
